I'm interested in hearing about Engineering Lead, Staff/Principal and Head of Engineering roles, especially in fintech, AI platforms, and security- or privacy-sensitive products. I work well remotely and have worked in London, Dubai and Berlin.

Consulting

Short, focused engagements where an experienced outside view moves things fast:

• Security & privacy reviews: threat modelling, secure SDLC setup, identity and session architecture, readiness for regulations such as GDPR and fintech rules.
• Platform & reliability: observability, incident response, CI/CD and test strategy, and cutting cloud cost.
• Technical due diligence: an honest assessment of a codebase, team and architecture.

Mentoring

I mentor a small number of engineers and engineering leads at a time. Typical topics:

• Growing from senior engineer to tech lead or engineering manager
• Moving into security or privacy engineering
• System design and architecture
• Building and maintaining open-source tools
